Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted in a while, so I just wanted to say hi and wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year. I want to thank all of you for sharing your stories here. It is because of those of you here who reached out to me in the last year or so that I was motivated to get listed at Madison even though I live in Michigan. My chances of receiving a kidney before I need dialysis are much greater now that I am listed at Madison. I am now on two transplant lists, my kidney function is holding steady at about 18%, and I've prepared for a transplant as best I can. I am more hopeful than I was a year ago, and facing a transplant has led to some very positive changes in my life. I do not know what the next year has in store for me, but I have learned to more fully appreciate each day I am healthy enough to enjoy life. Thank you again for sharing your stories. I wish all of you the best in the New Year.

Hello Debbie,
Thanks for checking in and letting us know your current situation. I think you will be very happy with your decision to list at UW-Madison. I am in Illinois and I still regret the fact that I didn't list at Madison immediately. I think I could have shaved a few months off my waiting time for sure. Oh well, water under the bridge now!
Good luck to you! :2thumbsup; :2thumbsup;

I hope it works out for you and you can get a pre-emptive transplant. Good luck! Keep us updated.
