Title: Cord Cutters?
Post by: Rerun on October 28, 2014, 05:08:55 PM
A Cord Cutter is someone who has cut the cord and no longer pays for TV  and or  Comcast (Xfinity... whatever) Dish, Direct TV etc...  I am a cord cutter.  I get Free TV which allows about 12 channels including ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS

I do still pay for 2 movies a month thru Netflix and I have wifi and computer thru Century Link.

                        :cheer:

No because my wife's work required a non DSL connection for her to work at home one day per week, so we signed back up with Comcast.  When with Comcast they fine/charge you for not having cable so the internet + extremely limited basic ends up near the same cost as just internet, so I went with that.  Last year they started offing a special plan with internet + extremely limited basic + HBO so I changed to that.  Honestly we don't really watch TV much, since my wife gets 10 plus movies per week from the library...

But if I could get a true $50 internet connection I'd drop the TV and use a antenna.  In preparation I bought this $10 TV antenna https://gigaom.com/2014/08/20/with-this-new-10-antenna-you-have-no-excuse-not-to-try-over-the-air-tv/

We only really watch football and hockey so cord cutting won't work for us at this time.  Most hockey games are not shown on free TV, which is a shame.
