I got a call from Baxter that gave me some concerns. We got a delivery on Friday of 22 boxes of Green 6 liter bags. I noticed that 4 of the boxes had an expiration date of March 15, while the rest were September 16. I know that Baxter is scrambling for supplies and this delivery was our second in two days due to product shortages. The fact that I had a mix of dates just meant to me that those 4 boxes probably came from a different warehouse or supplier.
The call this morning around 8 asked if we had gotten an order of 22 boxes recently. I said yes and the person said that they were recalling 4 boxes of fluid and to not use them and they would be picked up next month and replaced. I looked at the boxes and said, well since these boxes were older, I had them in rotation to be used. One box was most likely used last night. I asked if there was anything for me to be worried about and was told no. So I uneasily put the 3 boxes aside and marked them do not use. Not a comfortable feeling when you have used a recalled box, and don't know what the problem with the box is.
Anyone get this call today or have experience with these types of situations?

Well, if they are out of date that would probably explain the reason.

Not out of date. They expire March 2015. I'm wondering since these 4 cases were odd balls compared to the rest of the order, there might be some question about their storage? Most of the newer containers I am receiving are with Sept and December 2016 expiration dates.

That's a problem. Most recalls come a little late.
