Title: July 2014's EOB for Dialysis
Post by: Rerun on September 07, 2014, 06:13:10 AM
My EOB for July showed submitted charges from DaVita $69K plus some change.  They still get $3,217.20.  It just infuriates me.

I wonder how many new clinics they built this year.  Ours is getting a new remodel and they added the office next to us; knocked out the wall.  The patients get nothing new.  I'm fighting for a new place to hang our coats so they don't hang on the germ infested wheel chairs and walkers.  The staff now has two bathrooms and a shower and new conference room.  We have the same bathroom .... right in the waiting room where you hear EVERYTHING.

We are the mice that run the wheel.     :rant;

I completely agree, especially since I was on private insurance primary for the entire time I was on in-center dialysis.  Fresenius milked my employer dry to the tune of $20,000 per month.  That's what they got paid, not what was submitted.

I do think it's the difference between profit/non-profit.  I had the ability to dialyze in a non-profit center when I was on vacation.  Even though it sounds crazy, the non-profit center was like a vacation as well.  The staffing level was insane, I had my own RN that did everything, no techs around.  And my RN was a former dialysis patient herself so she knew the drill.
