As I was taking an empty SAK out of the Pureflow tub something caught my eye. I took another looksy and yup, there was a spider inside the metal tub and I swear, he saw ME see HIM and was trying to stay as still as possible. But, I don't like spiders or snakes so he had to go. Now, seeing that we just can't necessarily remove the tub portion of the Pureflow and we sure as heck don't want to use pesticide anywhere near our "home setup", I can understand why that spider (yeah, don't doubt there's probably more than one) took up residence or at the very least, enjoyed checking out the nice, warm dry environment inside the chassis. But , after much thought I realized that a small spider is nothing to sweat. Perhaps since we've been doing home-hemo I am getting a little braver or it's helped me put things into perspective as far as what constitutes "a big deal" and what doesn't. Spiders in the Pureflow tub? I say, "No Big Deal".

Apparently peppermint oil (in water) spray is a 'healthy' , and nice smelling way to keep spiders away. I haven't tried it yet, but am definitely going to try that tomorrow cos I'm tired of being 'brave'.

Thanks for the tip, cassandra! Did some reading up on it and might give it a try. Love the smell of peppermint and the fact that it's an alternative to pesticide. You'd think ants would end up being attracted to peppermint oil but from what I've read, peppermint oil spray actually REPELS insects, including ants. Just to be safe, think I'll test it outdoors first. Also read about using tea tree oil but I think I once read that tea tree oil can be deadly to cats and altho he can sometimes be very rebellious and even devilish, think we'd like to keep ours around.
