Good day every one.
I would like to know if it is okay to draw blood post hemodialysis session for full Lipid Profile (LDL, HDL, Triglycerides), although it's recommended for 8-12 hours fasting, since this would save me from my right hand being pocked (both hands should be saved for fistula).

I dont beleive dialysis should have any effect on lipids. You should still not eat for the 8 -12 hours but dialysis should be ok. (Thats just my opinion)

The center I use does lipid profile on an annual basis, and has me draw the tube for that pre-dialysis (with a 12 hour fast).

This is good to know. My husband has Diabetes but since starting dialysis, has not returned to the diabetes specialist and that worries me. Hopefully we can bring up doing a Lipid profile with his Neph, as we do home-hemo and draw his labs once a month at home anyways.
Question: Does fasting for 12 hours prior affect blood pressure during hemo-dialysis? Anyone notice any changes to their BP?

I've done some readings, and perhaps it's more safe to withdraw blood prior hemo dialysis, since there are dialysis solutions (Potassium, Sodium, and of course Sugar substances), that may have some effects on the Triglycerides, not sure about LDL and HDL.
