Great news!!!!..... :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;
Our Bill has had a kidney transplant and appears to be doing well... Don't know much more, Bill being Bill, he doesn't say two words if one will do the same job!!!!!.... :rofl;
His message was 'At Maine Med, got a kidney. See you all on the other side'...
Let's keep him and his better half, Candy, in our prayers!...

I am taking the lack of communication since then as a sign that he went through surgery and is groggy and dopey afterward. But I AM getting antsy for more news!!!

Hello folks. I am home at last and doing well. The meds did have me shaking baddly so I couldnt use the keyboard to post anything. My loving wife braved the facebook crowd for the first time and posted for me. Thanks so much for all your support in my time with this disease and I will continue to post and help when I can.

Right up front with my type of humour. :Kit n Stik;
Doctor asked a relative 'how much beer do you drink', relative replied 'depends on how bad the alcoholic shakes are'.
Seriously , praying for betterment of conditions.

It is always good news to hear of a transplant. Hope you are doing well.
I have a question: Does a person who has a transplant have to take anti-rejection meds for the life of the transplant?
-
I have been told I do need to, otherwise the body's immune system would attack the new kidney.
-
Hello iketchum,
I am so glad that renalwife has asked you this particular question,
because I was wondering about the same question and I thank you for answering it.
I do hope you continue to do so well and I send you my kind regards,
best wishes and good luck from Kristina.

Had my second day back to work today, 6 hours. Doing well so far.
-
Good on ya!
-
My transplant center told me that even if my transplant fails, they want me to remain on a low level of anti-rejection drugs to keep my antibodies at a lower level for a successful future transplant.

GREAT NEWS BILL! Prayers are answered. I am really happy for you friend! :yahoo;
