Hello,
My name is Madelaine and I am a producer for a local news station here in Los Angeles.
I am working on a story about organ transplants and was wondering if anyone would like to do an on camera interview regarding this topic; specifically i would like to talk to to someone about what is it like being on such a long waiting list for a kidney transplant and why someone might look to black market organs, or otherwise less legal (tho in my opinion no less ethical if both parties are willing) options. If you would like more information please send me a message or respond to this post.
Thank you,
Madelaine

Then there are those of us unwilling to consider a transplant for fear of the anti-rejection medications, loosing are immunity to infection from most everything. Not to mention some of the sickening side effects of the meds.
No thank you, I will stay on PD, it is working well for me. I feel so much better than I have for a number of years.
I don't know how much of a 'black market' you may uncover. Surgeries can get costly, leaving many unable to even consider 'purchasing' a kidney, and the continuing medication required to keep from rejecting that kidney. I would be willing to bet that most of the kidney black market for a large part is only urban legend. Very small, if at all.
The extended wait time for a suitable donor is the largest problem. Spreading the word, that there are thousands of people waiting, many dying before a good match is to be found.
The serious need is for people to at least consider donating once their time is done, cut short by accidents, How their simple gesture of donating can save another life and that small part of them will be remembered. Kidney recipients are very grateful for the opportunity to be relieved of dialysis and once again have somewhat more 'normal' chance at life.
I wish you well and Good Luck putting together your program.
