Hey all, hope this post finds everyone in good spirits. I had my PD catheter inserted yesterday. The surgery went well but I experienced a lot of postoperative nausea, vomiting and pain. My body does not tolerate anesthesia well, but today I am feeling a bit better. Hopefully everything heals well and I will be able to start training in two weeks. -- feeling hopeful---

It's killing me that I can't change the dressing for a whole week. I am really sore. Is that normal?

my mil just had her done 10 days ago. She's feeling fine now..you will probably feel sore for a week to two weeks depend on your recovery. It will feel some pain and a little uncomfortableness when you getting off the bed and sitting up. Take care! The soreness will be gone sooner than you know.

When Mum had hers put in, the Neph. told her that it's as invasive as having her appendix removed, and to expect to feel a bit rough for a while....
Give yourself a chance to heal... You're doing great!.... It'll be well worth the short-term discomfort...
