Jenna is going from Los Angeles to Maryland Dec. 30 - Jan. 5
She is doing 3 manual exchanges per day.
Does anyone have experience ordering Fresenius supplies for delivery at a hotel?
I hope they can do it this soon.

I have never done it but it was discussed as part of my training in October. The key was to coordinate this with your PD Nurse and the team that handles your orders a few weeks prior to the trip. Doing manuals at least there will be no cycler to deal with but I imagine she will need the sundry supplies like extension tips, gauze 2x2s, masks and etc as well. I wonder if it can be done without an IV pole or if that will have to be sent along as well. The Fresenius saftey organizer for hookup has suction cups on the bottom so I imagine those are for use without an IV pole.

Karol, I had Baxter as my supplier and all I had to do was contact them 2 weeks ahead of my trip, tell them where I was going and what I needed. They took care of the delivery. I was responsible for all my miscelaneous supplies (basically everything other than fluid). I paced it up in a big blue tub and cinch strapped it closed. Never had any problems at all. Have a great trip!

When I was on PD, Fresenius did a great job of getting PD supplies to hotels, and the one hotel I used that charged a package fee (a Las Vegas tradition) waived the fee when I contacted the hotel manager and explained the nature of the delivery (still tipped the bellman who brought it to the room). Next time your order supplies, ask for a "door hook" (Fresenius will call your RN for approval since it is probably not on your Rx). You can generally find something to hang the hook on in the hotel room - I often used the edge of an open closet door.

As far as a pole, when I was traveling to and from Wisconsin, I used a short bungee cord and hung the bag from the in-room clothes rack. Worked for me.

I have a collapsible IV pole that I traveled with. Made things just that much easier. But i have done some real kluging to hang my bags, anything from a hanger on the bedroom lamp to using a bicycle stand. It all works.

I've done pd while riding in a car and had balanced the bag on my head. It took a long time to fill me.
I guess this is getting off topic. Sorry.

Thanks everyone. Do we tell the order desk about the travel plans or does the PD nurse have to coordinate it?
I texted her today but no reply, which is odd. Usually she responds promptly.
Will try to call her tomorrow.
We have a bungee cord, which has a sturdy hook so will tell Jenna to take it case she gets nothing else.
:thx;

I always told them what my plans were, I figured the more they knew, the better off everyone was.

A short bungee cord hooked to the garment hook behind the front seat works great. I would wind it around the garment hook twice and used both hooks on the cord for the bag. This is posted to give others some tips for doing manuals while traveling.

I carry and 'S' hook with me. When filling in the car, I put i through the garment hook in the back seat and hang my bag from that.

How did it go? I had Baxter before and travel was easy. I'm on Fresenius this time and will be traveling out of state in June. My PD nurse said Fresenius only needs 2 weeks notice and an address.
