Title: Dialysis and transplant patients in Typhoon hit Tacloban City
Post by: Amiel on November 21, 2013, 05:17:11 PM
If you know about the typhoon that hit the Philippines, there's news (http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/video/nation/11/18/13/survivors-need-dialysis-machines-maintenance-meds) about dialysis patients and transplant patients not receiving the help they needed right away. I heard stories about some people who live in islands and couldn't get to the dialysis centre because all the boats were destroyed or roads and bridges were blocked.

You have to bear in mind that these are extenuating circumstances, and there are thousands of people not receiving the help that they need, not just dialysis patients.  I don't find it all surprsing that they are jot getting help, but I had wonderedabout them.
