Hi all, I'm Theresa Petit, Epokid's 2nd grade teacher.
Mr. H is the only person I know on dialysis and became a member so I could see how he helped you all.
I am 45 and live in Lakewood, CA
I've been a teacher for 18 years.
I got to meet Epoman when he forced himself into volunteering in my classroom. You see, I wasn't really "into" volunteers in my classroom until "Mr. H" came along. Nick wanted him to come in the classroom and I know Mr. H kept after him to talk to me to let him be my volunteer. He finally came to my room 3 weeks later and threw the handicap card in my face. "You know I'm not going to be around that much longer for Nick..." Little did I know he was right. We were fast friends after that. He introduced me to my first Tito's taco! I learned so much from Mr. H. He was such a giving, unselfish, passionate man. When he told me about this website, he was so excited and proud and worried that it wouldn't do well. I'm so amazed at his ingenuity and creativity and that he used his gifts to help others.

Thanks for sharing that with us.
That sounds just like Epoman.
He was an advocate for childlren as well as kidney patients and he was so proud of Nick.
I'm glad you got to meet him and he got to volunteer for you.
All of our lives have been enriched greatly by knowing him.
That is funny about the Tito's Taco.

Welcome,
Mr. H had passed away before I joined IHD, but I still appreciate what he has done for this community of people struggling with CKD.

It is so nice to hear from you, and that part of his life, I have been reading all his old posts and can completely picture him being your first volunteer :)
I am sure with a person like you in Nicks corner, he will be OK.

I am so touched by your caring enough to join us. I am a teacher as well, and I am so happy that Epokid has someone like that on his side. Yes, Epoman was a very special person. My initiation into dialysis was made much easier because I found this website just before I had to go on, as I was preparing. So it is very special to me.
Please continue to post. Let us know how Epokid is doing. This site is much more than just dialysis. We have an Off-Topic section that deals with ANYTHING!!

Welcome Ms. Petit.
Bill was indeed a special man. In spite of his handicaps & constant pain he could accomplish more in a day than most could in a month.
He would be so pleased to know your here participating & looking out for Nick.
