Title: A Word to the Wise
Post by: drgirlfriend on October 15, 2013, 09:31:31 PM
Hi Wonderful Caregivers!   :bow;

I hope you are all taking care of yourselves! Just a short note about something I've discovered. The Ex Boyfriend has decided to start asking people about live donation. He is a notoriously private and self-sufficient person and didn't want to ask. He also doesn't have a large social circle. But now he is burnt out on D and feels he can't withstand the waiting on the list much longer. So now there's an element of desperation in him that isn't able to graceful tolerate people's awkwardness and procrastination about the topic. If your caregivee doesn't want to talk to others about live donation because they're proud, stubborn or just plain scared, please encourage them to start the conversation before they reach the end of their rope. It will be much easier on both them and the people they talk to.

Much love to all of you!

Hello!

That's brilliant that he's now reaching out to people.  I hope he finds his match.

Also hope that you're fine and dandy! Lovely to 'see' you!

Thanks Poppy! It's good to "see" you too! I still lurk about a bit. Doing pretty well, looking for work, taking an algebra class. I still talk to the ex even though sometimes I wish I didn't. Working on boundaries I guess. My Mom just turned 70 so there was a big party with relatives, including my Granny, flying in. It was exhausting and often reminded me of being a caretaker, but Mom was happy so it was worth it.
