Title: Can't do home Hemo because i'm deemed uncompliant by DUHVITA
Post by: zekewolfy on March 02, 2007, 07:27:48 AM
OK, sorry for the rant. But Davita is refusing to let me do home hemo dialysis because I am "uncompliant". Uncompliant to Duhvita is cutting your treatment short every now and then by 10 minutes because you are either...

1. Sick from being on dialysis
2. work full time and have to be at work for a meeting
3. have another family emergency that needs to to attended to
4. your fistula is acting funny that day

Anyway, the Home hemo director comes down and tells me, if you stay compliant with no AMA sign offs for a whole month,
we will put you on the Home Hemo training schedule.

HOW NICE OF THEM, especially since I found out that how they bill my private insurance by time increments. These Duhvita bastards want to make sure I pay full "tribute" to their corporate bullcrap for the privilege of getting my life back.
I called my case manager and the DUHVITA social worker and told them they were FIRED! They work for me and my Insurance company, not vice versa. I am switching clinics(one that does home hemo) as quickly as possible.
I am sick to death of this DUVITA BullSH*t.

a clinic shouldn't be able to tell you what type of dialysis you can or should do. that should be between you and your doctor.  but then my doctor thinks davita is just evil.
