Finally a nocturnal center has opened closer to home For the last three to four years I have been driving 28 miles each way to go to nocturnal dialysis. FMC has a nocturnal center in Loma Linda. Just opened u and I requested a move. Instead of 28 miles it will be 8 miles. Hubby and daughter who have been taking me and picking me up will be much happier It is much closer to home. It is a brand new center.

I start at the new center tomorrow Thursday. My whacked out BP ought to give them a few starts tomorrow night. Oh well. I know my body and dialysis after so many years on it.

Oh my! seven miles from h0ome instead of 23 miles. 15 minutes instead of forty. The center is nice, clean. Staff was welcoming. They were a gentle stick for the first tim. TV has more channels than I know what to do with. Internet. Chairs,no beds, yet. BP of 87 wigged one person out. I told them it was high for me. They did not tell me TTH SUNDAY! Showed up Saturday expecting dialysis, no one there. Would have been nice to know that. Paperwork does snot say days. Oh well. Try again tomorrow.

Well, I am glad it is clean and nice too. Wouldn't you know it, looks as if I might be at the DaVita on Magnolia by the first of the year. My GFR has gone down to 20 ( not too bad still ), but my Hemo is now at 9 and my creat double what it should be, so I know I am on borrowed time. And now you wont be there to greet me. Bummer.
-
Bummer, Jean. But I am so much closer to home. Will you do nocturnal?
-
I am gonna try to do nocturnal. I think I mentioned to you at one time that my Neph will not discuss my dialysis options with me. So, now, he is sending me to CKD school and I will find out there I hope, whether or not I can do PD, then I can make my choice with out any confusion.

It takes us ten minutes to get to the new center. Nice travel time. My new tech is a Disney freak so we have something to talk about.
My BP is still nutso. Doctor says above 75, I wished him good luck. No, he was serious. So my BP hits 75 and below The nurse went whacko. I had my BP taken almost 100 times the other night. No sleep.
They will adjust to me.

I am glad you like it. Hope it continues to work for you.

I have been looking at old posts on IHD. It was five years ago August 1 that I started nocturnal dialysis in Riverside. I cannot believe it has been that long. The new center is working out. I have not slept yet. I need an egg crate and a head pillow to be more comfortable. My low BP is making the nurses crazy and the docs. They want the upper number over 80 and I laugh. I like the fact they want to solve the problem and keep me above a certain level. They call the doctor for orders at the drop of a hat. I like that the docs are more involved in care at this unit. I have actually had conversations this clinic with two doctors.
It is a work in progress.

As is life!

Would a little salt help your BP? Eat a pickle an hour before? :waving;

wow kitkatz,,, your bp and bos seem to *had* been running side by side. :( Only, weardest thing, he had some sort of horrid (thought he had heart attack and died in my arms) sesiure type thing, collapsed, and eversince, his bp is staying just above 100 most of the time. I watch closly still of course, and sometimes still give the m pill at start as it just keeps me feeling a bit better, and it doesnt raise it but hold it. Only give it when he starts in the 90's. I sure hope you start sleeping, it surly makes a world of difference. Bless you and all your/our hearts for all you go/get through.
