Title: Low Total UF
Post by: Whamo on June 20, 2013, 07:27:57 AM
Last night I only took off 770 ml of fluid with two green bags.  I usually take off about 1,500 with two green bags.  Does this ever happen to anyone else?

My UF averaged 500-1000 when I was doing 2 green bags on the cycler. they never said anything about it.  now that I do a manual exchange and the cycler, my UF averages between 1100-1500.  the doc seems satisfied with this.

My UF from the cycler is typically between -250 and sometimes up to 900 if I wake up and am standing for my final drain. I get the lions share of my clearing with my final manual drain. The cycler fills me with 1700-1800 ml at the end and I drain anywhere from 2500 to 3500 3 hours later. I look at it as a total UF across the whole treatment and that winds up being somewhere around 1300 - 1700 ml for a 24 hour period. My PD team thinks this is just fine. I'm not gaining weight and am not edemic, and those would be the immediate signs that I was not getting all the necessary fluid off. Watch your weight, that will tell you the story quickest. Good luck!

Did you drink less during the day beforehand, or eat something extra salty?  Both these factors can decrease your UF.  As a woman, my menstrual cycle would affect UF too ( know that isn't relevant here but just thought that I would add that, in case someone searches on the sme hing in future).
