Title: Sneaky men!
Post by: billybags on June 04, 2013, 06:02:48 AM
Hubby had his monthly bloods took yesterday and results through to-day. They are quite good for a change.
I went for my knit,  natter and crotchet club this morning leaving hubby to do a bit of shopping on his mobility scooter. Beautiful day, sun shinning. I got home a little early and there he was in the garden eating the biggest breakfast bap he had purchased at the near bye cafe. What can you do with them ladies. I really had to laugh, he was like a naughty little boy being  caught out. :Kit n Stik;

I laugh because it's cute, and because it's all so familiar..lol  It's charming at times, and ohhhhhhhh so annoying at others.lol  Sometimes, hubs will put his arms up like a little one, and want me to put his shirt on for him  :o  Yep,,, they can be real cute sometimes..  :cuddle;

 :waiting; I am wondering that too...

A breakfast bap is a large roll with bacon or ham as you call it, fried egg and tomatoes. You bite into it and the tomatoes go all over your face and down your shirt.

My mum's a terror for this!...

Whenever she's having her PET tests once a year, she goes to the hosp., I do her first exchange in the hosp, she has her bloods done, and then it's off to the local shopping centre to do some shopping, and then to a little place we like, and she has the Full Irish breakfast... Bacon, tomato, mushrooms, roast potatoes, etc...

Mind you, as she's on PD, and her bloods are always described as 'spot on' by the staff, the nurses actually encourage the odd morning of cheating... The PD Nurse Specialist usually says 'Off you go, Elsie... Enjoy your breakfast!'... One Neph., if she meets us on the way out of the hosp. says 'Don't forget to have the Soda Bread, Elsie'...

So all in all, it's probably one of the worst meals a person on dialysis should have, but hey...

Hope your hubby enjoys his occasional 'cheat'... ALWAYS tastes so much better when it's something you're not supposed to have!....

Love to all...

Darth...

'Get your baps out, love!" ... Ha ha! Makes me chuckle.  I'd never even heard of a bap till I moved from the East of England (we just call them rolls) to the North-east of England to go to uni.  They have a different language up there! And although I know that baps are boobies I don't think I've ever actually heard anyone say it in that context.  I've lived a very sheltered life.

Bless your hubby, billyb.  He deserves his occasional little treat - just as long as he's not making a habit out of it behind your back.  He would need scolding for that.

Bless you Poppy. So if we sort out a UK get together meet at Cambridge are you going to at least turn up for the dinner (Was thinking Bills) so we can lead you astray?!!!   >:D

I'm not sure; being terminally shy and paranoid means I'll probably say 'no'. I did pop into the UK Meet thread and then popped out again fairly quickly.  I genuinely do panic easily.

I haven't been to Bills before but am going there next month ... can you recommend any dishes?!

I love Bills ... think I like all their food. The chorizo burger is particularly good and the chicken ceasar salad very yummy too. I must go again soon. They serve chips in little tin buckets and their
deserts are enormous. But the place has great atmosphere! Enjoy :) Oh and the breakfast menu is wow too!!!!
Now I'm hungry...

He is at it again! Last night he said he just fancied a bag of crisps. "I think it is the equverlant of potatoe chips for my American friends."  I thought why not, he has been fairly good latley.Or has he. He seemed a long while in the kitchen , so I went to see what was going on. Low and behold there was this enormose packet of crisps. The little bogger had put two bags together. He thought I would not notice. I had to smile. He is like a naughty school boy.  :Kit n Stik;

Let's not forget hat he is a grown man, and needs to take responsibility for his own actions.

I am really impressed with his ingenuity.  I have to remember this trick, you know, just in case.  And now I have to ask, was he a spy in a previous life?

*chuckles* ... this actually reminds me of the time I found an empty (and very much eaten) pot noodle hidden at the back of a cupboard in the living room early on in haemoD life.  It even still had the fork in it.  Men! (I can't believe I've only just remembered that!)

Ahhh midnight forages in the fridge (Any calories/potassium/phosphate doesn't count between midnight and 6am!!!!!  8) )
I used to love sneaking down about 2am in my dressing gown and eating cold chinese, toast with butter and jam and my favourite, a sneaky fried egg sandwich on toast,
And ice pops for when it's really hot  :o   :o :

Ah yes, the old sneaky Pot Noodle indulgence!!!!!... LOL!!!!.....

That's Mum all over!...

Thankfully, as she's Parkinson's, there's not much else she can prepare for herself, so her overnight 'nibbles' are pretty restricted!....
