Greetings, all. Haven't been around much because I started back to school a month ago and now I'm doing the Allient trial.
I had my first time on the Allient on Monday. Had my second treatment today.
Oddly, that's about all I have to say about it, at this point. hehehe.
I think that it will work marvelously as a home option for a lot of users...because the unit walks the user through the setup.
It's kewl that it uses just one needle. Unfortunately, we are using my least favorite buttonhole <still using sharps, btw>, so I'm not very happy about that.
I will probably be a lot more cheerful about this when I'm done with the 8 weeks in clinic and can do the next 8 weeks at home.
Though, truth be told, I don't think I'm really going to be cheerful until I get a long-lasting kidney and never have to do dialysis again.
But anyhoo...if you have questions about the Allient, ask away. I don't know much, at this point, but I can ask.

Hi Treasure, So glad to hear from you again. I am sorry, i have no clue what Allient is, when you said you were on trial, i thought you were in court, i know i know, i am a NOOB, if you dont mind explaining what it is, i would love to hear about it. Hope your doing well otherwise and look forward to hearing more from you girlfriend, until then, keep on keepin' on :cuddle;

goofynina...hi there! hmmm.. you thought i had a court trial...that tickles me. this trial feels like it's going to last as long as the OJ case, hehehe. :'(
here's a link to the web page for the allient. http://www.renalsolutionsinc.com/home/allientsystem.html
i think it is a re-tooled version of a previous hemo machine...the Ready? or something like that.
tomorrow is day three for me and i get to do the setup for the first time. it's going to be a long day, woohee!
