I was looking a Ed's cycler the other night looking at the records of past days. I realized the "my records" does not include his first drain for the day/night in the net UF for the cycle. Where does the info get counted? or does it?
Ed runs 2 different cycles. 1) if he's working where does 2 manuals at work and the hooks up for the night and the cycler does 4 exchanges 2 hours each. 2) is when he isn't working he hooks up does an exchange then pauses and does the remaining 4 at night these are longer then on work nights.
None of the records record his first drain in the "net UF" I'm confused why would it not matter how my he drained when he hooks up? Where does the info get counted?
Ed is going to ask his nurse, see if she knows. I'm not counting on it. Ed knows more about the machine then she seems to.

I track mine by writing down the quantity of my manual drain on the log sheet. I have just extended the day line on the log sheet into the margin to give me room for that. This way I do have records of everything that comes out of me in a 24 hour period.

The computer records the initial drain but as far as I can tell it isn't counted in the UF total. The ProCard can be read by your clinic and it will show the initial drain amounts.

Thank you Joe and Willis,
The paper work FMC wants us to fill out does not include a line for the initial drain just the net drain. We have not been given an IQ drive yet so far we have just been filling out the paperwork they gave us. But there is no place for this on their papers.
I guess we will have to right it in somewhere.

It is a setting in the prescription that needs to be changed to include the initial drain UF. Visit your clinic nurse and they should fix it. This is something that is programmed on the memory stick. In the mean time, just write down the UF values.
