Title: World Skype Project
Post by: Riki on March 15, 2013, 09:17:52 AM
My friend, American comedian and film maker (not to mention absolute cutie pie) is working on a new project, trying to skype with someone in every country in the world.

This is the man who visited every Starbucks in Manhattan in one 24 hour period, lived for a week in an Ikea store, lived for 30 days on a Jet Blue aircraft (which now has his face emblazened on the side), had complete strangers carry him the length of Manhattan, rode a big wheel from one side of Manhattan to the other, and did an internet detox by locking himself in his bathroom for a week.

This was posted on his facebook page today:
I have 119 countries so far participating in my World Skype project in which I'm attempting to Skype with someone in every country in the world. Can anybody help me with the following 74 countries? Afghanistan, Argentina, Bahrain, Barbados, Benin, Burundi, Cape Verde, Central Africa Rep, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Dem Rep of Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Fiji, Grenada, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Kiribati, North Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Maldives, Mali, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Mauritius, Micronesia, Monaco, Myanmar (Burma), Nauru, Nepal, Nicaragua, Niger, Oman, Palau, Panama, Paraguay, Qatar, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Samoa, San Marino, Sao Tome & Principe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Slovakia, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Suriname, Syria, Tajikistan, Timor-Leste (East Timor), Tonga, Togo, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uzbekistan, Yemen. Uh, North Korea.... Does he have a contact in Iran? Because North Koreans are much more unanimous in their hatred of the US. It would be a rare North Korean indeed who doesn't think that Americans are a concentrate of pure evil. I would be gobsmacked to learn that they are even able to Skype, especially to the US. Is he being careful not to get some poor individual killed over a bit of concept art? I am asking in all seriousness.

I don't use FB, so please let us know how he gets on with this. (And maybe remind him that ignorance of a country's complex political relationships could have dire consequences.)
