Today was my fourth day of Home Hemo training. I started my self cannulation of the arterial side and I panicked when it started to bleed. My nurse had to take over quickly for me. However, once the venous side started to bleed I just continued to push and i got it in. The nurse said I did well and that I will get better with practice. My blood pressure remained normal throughout the process. I am very proud of myself. Everything that I am being taught is a lot to remember; however, I feel good about my decision to do my treatments at home. I think that I will be a pro in no time at all.

It's all a matter of practice. I'm sure yu will do fine. There is a lot to remember so just take it one day at a time.

I am sure that many people have experienced this duringmtheir early days. I certainly did. it is to do with being to bei g too slow amd hesitant about progressing the needles which is fully understandable. however, wrll done. this is quite an accomplishment. :clap; :clap;

Way to go, Newgrl! I am finishing my second week of training and have not tried to self-cannulate. My time is coming when we start my button holes. I am very nervous about it! Good to hear you did it! Maybe I can, too. Keep up the good work!
