Hi all! I am in week 2 of my NxStage training and would like to get a small thank you gift for my nurse. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking maybe a restaurant gift card, but would like to do something a little more personal for her. She has been so nice to me and very helpful. Any nurses out there with suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!

Angie, Im no nurse, but I think a thank you card and resturant gift cert is a fantastic idea! Wish I had thought of that when I trained. He is no longer there, but so much appreciated his tootilege and guidance when we trained. Other than what you have mentioned, I don't know of anything more personal than that!
NxStage is great, isn't it? And so are the one's who trained us!!!
God Bless,
lmunchkin :kickstart;

You just need to make sure she isn;t breaking any center rules by accepting a gift. My nurse was phenominal but I had to balance what she could get away with accepting and what I wanted t give her.
She always had a Tim Horton's coffee every day, so I got her a gift card for there. As it turns out she used it enroute to the house for the week of onsite training she did. The gift was actually was for her birthday which was during the trianing so it worked out.
After the training was done I got a Thank You card and sent it to the center so they knew how happy I was with the training. The envelope was addressed just to the center but inside it mentioned her by name. I just hope the manager(s) took notice of what a great job she did.

if she cant accept gifts you could do the card to the facility itself, like speedy mentioned, and/or send her some flowers to work
OR, you can send it to the office annonymously too...

I gave my nurse a gift cert. for his favorite restaurant. I had already fished this information out of him deliberately in general conversation. He wasn't supposed to, but I was absolutely insistent, telling him that it was already purchased.

You can also get cute things for different professionals at the Hallmark Gift Store, if you have one where you are. For instance, they may have a plaque that says "thank you for being such a great nurse" etc. just for that profession. I bought one for my mom to give to her ob/gyn a few years back.

Thanks for the suggestions! She has been amazing and I definitely want to let her know how much I appreciate everything. I know it's her job, but she definitely goes above and beyond what is required. I will try to find out where she likes to eat and get a gift card. I will also check out my local Hallmark store. My plan is to give it to her when she comes to my house for my first home treatment. That way I won't risk anyone at the center finding out.

That's actually a good idea. You may also want to find out if she likes any sort of snacks or even what she likes for lunch. She'll be there for a bit so you can prepare to make her comfy and welcome.
