Hi,
Just joining. My husband is a 30 year old type 1 diabetic with kidney failure and will need dialysis in the near future. I joined to learn about other's experiences. We are hoping to do home hemo, ideally nocturnal home hemo. Also we are looking into transplants.

Hi amykathleen! Welcome. :welcomesign;
You sound as though you have a fairly good handle on kidney failure already. I'm on PD, but there are many others doing home HD just waiting to have their brains picked.
Look forward to hearing more from you.

Another young person! I don't love the circumstances that bring you here, but I like hearing from other young folks who are dealing with ESRD because of some of the similar challenges we face. Hope you find the info you need here.

:welcomesign; AmyKathleen! I do home Hemo. I don't do nocturnal though. My session usually lasts about 2 hours 15 minutes/ 5 days a week. That's just about long enough to watch a movie or a couple of TV shows. That's what we usually did in the evenings any way. I use a NxStage unit. I'd be happy to try to answer what I can about HHD.
