i saw the surgeon today
they want to take my parathyoids feb 5th
i was hesitant for awhile trying to think what could be done to avoid it
but in realirty there is nothing
so i guess this is the best thing that can be done

Unfortunately a parathyroidectomy is pretty much a last resort when medication no longer works. I had 3.5 of my parathyroid removed three years ago and it's really done the job. The surgery itself was not nearly as bad as I was expecting and you can't even see the scar after it healed up. It was worth it to no longer have to take the medications. For me at least.
Good luck! :D

he said something about taking 3/2 out and put the other half in my left arm

Sounds about right. I think they usually leave half a para and either put it in your arm or leave it intact. I used to know the reason for this but I've forgotten now. :/ I think it's so you don't produce too little pth after the surgery.
