Title: Supplements?
Post by: tito on January 06, 2013, 11:09:23 AM
I just attended a lecture with my wife who has Lyme Disease. The doctor discussed toxicity stemming from that disease and the multitude of effects it has. I was thinking of the toxicity an ESRD patient might have due to uremia, etc.

Do any of you use supplements (such as antioxidants) aside from the garden-variety Nephrocaps?

I don't take supplements. Make sure you ask your doctor before adding anything. Some supplements can really hurt you.

Absolutely! I would never take anything unless it is under supervision. I am making an appointment with an integrative medical practice, the one that diagnosed my wife's Lyme. (Unlike the "award winning" doctor with Brigham and Women's, our fraudulent hospital in Boston). I am keeping my nephrologist.

Tito, I think probably, supplements for a healthy person would be good.  But to someone who has kidney failure (no longer able to filter those supplements like kidney's do) it would probably not be good.  As Jeannea said, always consult the Doc.

I on the other hand, have taken supplements.  Iam currently taken "Airborne".  Which is a large dose of Vit. C and others too.  I already got the flu this year (first in years), but I do not want to get that respiratory crap going around, for sure!
I use to take or dabble with alot of that stuff, but have found it to be "quite" expensive.  So I just don't do as much!

Any particular one you interested in?

God Bless,
