Title: bloodresults after 4 weeks Nxstage 5/wk
Post by: cassandra on November 19, 2012, 07:15:06 AM
My bloods after 4 weeks Nxstage 5 days a week are brilliant. My creatinine has not been below 1000 since, uhm before I lost my dad's kidney. My Potassium is low pre and post (for me that is) I always found going in with a potassium of below 5,5 is not worth bothering with D (in-center) Now I eat nearly everything, like chocolates, fruit, meat, vegs in 'normal' portions, and I don't get higher than 4.7.

And I feel pretty good, and I discovered the recurrence of hairgrowth (under my armpits okay, and sorry for TMI)
Ridiculous we have to fight so hard, for Nxstage here in the UK. But its the same in much of Europe.
Is it really that much more expensive? Or is their 'bonussystem' not up to speed yet?

love to all Cas

I'm glad Nxstage is turning out so well for you....wonderful that you can eat pretty much anything now! Glad also that you're feeling so much better....even at the cost of armpit hair  :rofl; .. :bandance; :bandance;

Thank you all    :guitar:    No, I don't really mind doing it every day, bar two. It's quite short really. I'm just so much

more relaxed. No moody nurses, not watching, and checking every thing. Of course I don't work at the moment, and if I'm up to it, say in a year or so, I can only see myself working part-time.
I couldn't imagine working fulltime, and doing this 5 days a week.

love to all, Cas

Thats good news Cass.  Aint it nice, when you do it at your convenience as opposed to centers set schedule?  That is my most favorite part of NxStage, not to mention how much better John is feeling now. He has all this energy, but is limited due to his situation.  I just wish they had this NxStage before when he started.  But it is what it is!
So happy they finally got it for you.  Hey, you need to put that in your profile (update).  I don't see it on there.  Why is it so hard to get in the UK?  I don't understand that.

You will get better and better Cass, over time!  Just be mindful of how much (not what) you eat and drink.  You can have most anything you want, in moderation.

So glad to hear & God Bless,
lmunchkin :kickstart;

 Cass it's great to hear that NxStage is going so well for you. It's so nice to be able to eat what you want and still have normal labs. With people like you to spread the word NxStage will catch on quickly in the UK.

Thanx Bill, oh yes the food is great. And I'll definitely will be spreading the word. I'll be giving a 'talk' about all new developments with D, and about my own experiences with Nxstage in Feb.

Great news. Carl was always glad not to have to restrict his diet.

NxStage gives all sorts of freedom!  :2thumbsup;
