Hi,
My name's Aman, as you can see from my username. I'm from Malaysia. I came here to share my stories while reading yours to understand better the condition I'm in.
I just started my dialysis recently. I'm currently on CAPD. I got my tenckhoff in June this year. Everything seems fine until I started getting Peritonitis. I'm currently having my third Peritonitis and would appreciate some help this community.
I'm not very good at telling my stories, ask me anything and I'll reply back.
Thanks.

Hello, Aman, and welcome. :welcomesign;
I started CAPD last December and I had three bouts of peritonitis from March to June this year. It's not much fun, is it? I had my catheter out and was rested for four weeks before I got my new catheter. All is going well now. Touch wood.
The reason for my peritonitis is not known. I'm an ex-nurse so I was doing all my preparations with extreme care. I'm still very careful, but I don't really have very much faith in the rules I'm following. Much prefer to hope for the best, now.
This site has oodles of help and information. I look forward to seeing more of your posts.

Hello MaryD.
It's nice to know that there are others out there that are experiencing the same thing. My doctor says that I'm not suitable for CAPD and wants me to change to Haemodialysis but I'm not very fond of doing a fistula.
I thought I was the only one who keeps getting Peritonitis. My 1st and 2nd Peritonitis was while I'm in the hospital, so it's totally not my fault as the Nurse at the hospital was in charge of doing everything for me. The 3rd that I'm having know is officially my 1st Peritonitis.
