Title: Anyone in the NYC area looking for something to do this evening?
Post by: Riki on October 04, 2012, 04:21:29 PM
My best friend is participating in the Manhattan Monologue Slam at the PIT Theater in Lower Manhattan at 8pm tonight.  This is a monologue contest, where the winners are voted on by the audience.  Her name is Kelly Lincoln, and she could really use your support

I'm in Canada myself.  I'd love to go..  Kelly has been my best friend since 2007, but I've never seen her perform first hand.  I've seen a commercial that she did, and a short silent film that she was in.. one day, I will be there when she performs

in case anyone was wondering... she didn't win, but she says she got some great feedback, and is using the show as a learning experience

not for this show, no.  She does have a youtube channel, though, but it's mostly personal videos.  This is from Bard at the Bar in 2009.  It's a favorite of mine..  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUJA0F-_Pks&feature=plcp

it's not the greatest video.  It was created mostly so I could see her performance

I would have loved to see your friend Kelly Lincoln perform, but only read your post today.  I watched her YouTube videos and it's plain to see how talented she is, even though the quality of the videos is poor.  All the best to her and to you.

she is quite talented, but I could be a bit biased.. *G*  I could tell, watching that video for the first time, how much she loves acting.  It was written all over her face.  Someday, I will be there myself to watch her perform
