Title: Southern California Beach
Post by: Whamo on September 19, 2012, 02:51:10 AM
 :2thumbsup;  I had a great weekend at my mom's beach house in San Clemente.  September is the perfect month to spend time at the beach in California.   The weather is good, and the crowds are down.  It was 112 in the Inland Empire, where I live, and in the low 90's at the beach, with dry heat.  There's nothing like the sea breeze and sound of waves in the morning.

sounds great! I lived in Morongo Valley, CA for a while before moving to Mississisippi. Morongo is closest to Yucca Valley. Up in the canyons of the Little San Bernardino Moutains. I loved living  in the High Desert. Wasn't very far to drive to Palm Springs area to shop and stuff. Glad you got away. I never got to any other of the beaches but Venice Beach.

That is awesome you were able to get away!!  :beer1;
People don't always realize you can travel on dialysis or if they do some are scared to give it a try. I just got back from a vacation at the beach too, but I stayed on the East Coast, haha I vacationed in Ocean City, NJ with my family & it was my sons first real vacation to the beach so it made it memorable! We also had gorgeous weather too!

Hope you had a nice & relaxing time!

We know exactly how you feel Whamo.  Last year we went to Panama City Beach first week of Oct. and that was an awesome time to go.  We hope to go to Virginia Beach next month, and it will be a great time there too!

So glad you got on a much deserved get away!

God Bless,

Did you smell the awful smell over the Inland EMpire last week, Whamo?

It was sulphur smell off dead fish from the Salton Sea.

It was awful smelly at my school for a few days in Fontana.

Hi whamo we might be neighbors I'm in the Desert in Palm Springs and Kitkatz that smell made me sick. at first it was just outside then it got stronger and I could smell it all in side my home. had to turn on every sentsy candle that I had, just so it would not smell so bad.

The smell was horrible.  It created all sorts of headaches.

That beach vacation sounds like Heaven come true. I grew up within walking distance of a beach in Bridgeport, Ct. So now, I am transplanted to Riverside, Ca. I did not smell anything during the sulphur mess last week. Strange.

I heard about the smell, but I didn't notice it.  Must be my own BO.   :rofl;  I was born in Fontana, and I taught school there for 15 years.  My grandmother lived in Rialto, and I lived in Riverside, too, in the 50's.  I love Palm Springs in the winter.  One of my college friends is buying a new house there in the near future.  His bride lives there in a small house, too small, so they're looking for another one.  He's going to sell his beach house in Cayucos.  I think he's nuts.  The house has an ocean view from every window, front and back, and it's three stories.  I could never leave a house like that unless I was broke or something.

Palm Springs is great in the winter. Definitely not so great in the summer. I think I would probably want to cut off one of my arms rather than give up a beach house.
