Title: Camping and draining
Post by: stringbandbeth on August 02, 2012, 05:46:59 AM
Just started using Nx stage in our camper. Does anyone know the environmental impact of draining into the ground ? Seems to me it would be no worse than taking a leak on a tree. Also is there a law against it? Is it considered medical waste?  I'm not intending on doing this at actual campgrounds but we like to go real remote and it would be nice to save the Grey-water tank for a couple of showers instead of 80L. of dialysis fluid.
I figured I could dig a small grey-water pit outside and run the line right to it.  I would love to know if there are any laws/regulations about this stuff.

                          Thanks,
                             Beth

While I'm no expert, I've drained PD into the ground, and will be draining hemo into the ground as well in a few weeks, at a campground. :)

As far as I know, there are no regs against it. Especially if you are out there boondocking it. Your dialytic is not considered medical waste and can be disposed of just as you would your grey water. Have fun!
