If anyone is into classical music the 10th Sydney International Piano Competition is on. I used to take my annual leave so I could listen uninterrupted. Now I'm retired I don't have to.
www.abc.net.au/classic/sipca Sorry I can't organise for it to be clicked on - computer illiteracy
36 competitors - goes on for two weeks - they work their way up from shorter virtuosic works to full blown concertos - getting thinned out along the way - gobsmacking listening
There are 2 American competitors, and quite a few Chinese and Russian

Lovely! And your link does work, actually.
My car was in the way at a friend's house just after I pulled in the driveway, parked, and got out. One of the men present took my keys and ran back to move it. He handed them back afterward and said, "What the h*** are you listening to?" As much as I enjoy listening to classical, I'm lousy at differentiating from one artist to the next, but I did remember what the radio announcer had said as I was pulling into the drive.
"Bach's sonata in C major for flute."
Love the wide-eyed look that got. Classical music has all the benefits of listening to "hipster" music without any need to rant about how I listened to it before it was cool.

Oh my, I love Bach. I've sung his Mass in B Minor and his Magnificat.
