lynnrlpd1, what are you having done? Are they draining the fluid off? Or are they doing a talc slurry procedure.

All I heard from the doctor was it was minimal fluid but it did show up on X-ray so they did not need to do anything.  I had gone to hospital because of chest pain and this is what they found.

I hope they continue and make 'sure' of what it is.  Bo has had this 'infusion'  and has had it drained and it didnt hurt him.  He felt quite a bit better after as well.  Now, he, never hurt because of it, no chest pains etc, which doesnt mean someone else wouldnt, so hope they find for sure what caused the 'pain'.

I had the same symptoms and ended up in ER.  They found pleural effusion in my lungs and also in my heart.  They drained the fluid in my lungs.  It took two procedures to drain my lungs, but finally I felt better.  The fluid went down in my heart so I did'nt have to deal with that.  I am a Hemo patient and they believe I was overladen with fluid.  Sometimes, fluid collects in all parts of the body.  Nurses at the clinic should always be checking your lungs.  I am not sure how this was missed.
