Title: God, give me strength!
Post by: buffalogal855 on May 22, 2012, 11:17:39 AM
God please give me strength, as a caregiver, to help my husband deal with his ESRD, Stage IV; and thank you all for being here so that I can vent and complain and cry with people who understand.  Will update next week when we meet with hubby's nephrologist.  Just say a prayer please!

Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.  This disease is hard on the spouse/caregiver.  I hope the other caregivers here can give you wisdom, strength and support.   Please post next week, so we know how your husband is.

Yes, Paris, there are a host of us here that understand "Completely" what Buff is dealing with.  Just take a deep breathe and do what you can, dear!  That is all anyone can ask.  You love him and I know it "deeply" troubles you regarding his health. Just take his hand in yours and tell him just how much you "LOVE" him and how much he means to you.

He didn't ask for this, Buff.  He can't help what has happened and neither can you.  Just cope the best you can and leave it to God. That is how I deal with all the stress, I just give it to God and pray ferverently!  There are others who cope differently with this too, and Im sure they can share their coping mechanisms as well.

The thing that I try to be most careful with the most, is not "jumb" on hubby.  I have in the past, would just jumb on him for every little thing this disease brought forth for us both.  But I was so wrong and have felt shame over it.  Nothing intentional mind you, but it hurt him!  He did not deserve that and I have realized that over the years.  I want no more than to be the person he fell in love with 18 years ago before this damn disease took his livelihood.  I almost let it take me too, but I will not let it beat us down, PERIOD!!!

Hang in there, Buff.   You have got a whole lot of support here and we want you to know that!!

God Bless,
lmunchkin :kickstart;

Prayers coming your way for you and your husband. It's a very difficult road. With you by his side, you'll be able to conquer anything. You'll have your days where you'll second guess everything you do, that's normal. You'll also be very surprised what strength you have, you are his biggest advocate.

If you need to vent, advice, or just to talk we are here for you.  :grouphug;
