Good morning (it's morning in Brisbane) everyone! :) :ausflag;
I have read the many threads and pages of site rules and I am very impressed with the community here.
I am, however, concerned as to whether I am actually allowed to be here...
I am not a dialysis patient, thus, I am unsure as to whether I am actually welcome here.
I am a haemodialysis (hemodialysis) nurse. :waving;
I work in the haemodialysis unit of one of Australia's largest hospitals.
In the hospital we have a high dependency (acute care) unit, an out-patient unit, limited care unit and home training unit.
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by continuous study and training that is part of the job of being a nurse.
To be honest, my main concern has always been the comfort of the people having dialysis.
I feel this site will be an excellent place to read about the thoughts, perceptions, feelings and of course issues, that people have while being on dialysis and living with dialysis. The more I can learn about these things, I feel, the better nurse I can become.
So.... Please excuse me for being here, and more importantly, am I welcome to read your experiences and learn from them?
Many thanks,
David :2thumbsup;

Hi, David! You most certainly are welcome here! You will learn a lot by getting to know the good people here and I hope that we will be able to learn as much from you. A heartfelt "Welcome!" to you.

With this attitude, how could you ever worry that you'd not be welcome?! :rofl;
I hope you'll do more than read, but ask questions if you have them and offer your experience and knowledge when you might have an answer for someone. That's what makes this site so valuable - the support and information.
So nice to have you join us, Dave. Welcome, and please make yourself at home! :waving;
