Hi IHD friends.
I want to let you all know that my husband, Katonsdad, had a heart attack Wednesday night at work. He was walking down the hallway and felt dizzy. He walked into his office and passed out for a second. He sat down in a chair and his cowork called 911. His blood pressure was low and his cardiac enzymes were elevated. He didn't have any chest pain and no problem breathing, but the doctor said it was a mild heart attack. They ran some tests on his heart that showed it is not pumping like a normal heart should. He will be transferred to a hospital that is better equipt to deal with kidney and heart problems. It is the same hospital that will do his kidney transplant when/if he ever gets one. He is not on the transplant list yet. He may need some sort of heart surgery. We should learn more after he is transferred to the other hospital. Please keep him in your prayers.

:clap; I am home now recovering , wearing what they call a Life Vest , a external defibullator. In 40 days will get one implanted . I have been told no more hamce for a Kidney transplant. We will need to kepp working on it thpugh. New achievements every day in the field of medicine. May need to
"retire" from working after 32 yrs with same company. Only 49 but we will see what happens

Good to hear from you and glad you are home. I am sorry about what you've been through but it sounds like you're being taken care of. No transplant, ever? Wow thats very hard news to take, I am sure. The main thing now is to get yourself healthy and if it means retiring, then go for it. That's an amazing work history with one company!

So glad to hear you are home. Like u said, medical breakthroughs right, left and centre.
Keep up hope,
lots of love Cas

So very glad you are home and doing OK. it is really scary when you have a heart attack and I am only the carer, it scares the living daylights out of you. My husband has had 2 in the last 3 years and is no longer on the transplant list because his heart is knack**ered, but as you say there are "New achievements every day in the field of medicine" . fingers crossed and you take it easy. Think about retiring, why kill your self working.

Glad you are home and hope you recover well. Do they not want to do surgery because of your heart?
They are improving surgery times and recovery times, I hope that they can do something for you down the road....and hope they are taking good care of you now.

I'm very sorry about your heart attack, but happy to hear you're home and feeling better. Is it the defibrillator that will keep you off the transplant list? Medical discoveries seem to come everyday, perhaps the decision about you not being able to receive a transplant can be reversed at a later time. :pray;
