I think I went temporarily insane today...
has anyone ever done anything completely out of charictar for them? its unexplainable really, something that you would never think you would ever do in a million years??

As for my own experience - well, nothing completely out of character that I can think of. I didn't steal anything or kill anyone - although I have to say I was tempted to! >:D

im actually very ashamed of what i did, and still in shock that i even did it, id rather not say what i did... but i really do wonder if im losing my freakin mind or what?

Lets hope this is only temporarily... I do stuff all the time that I can't explain. Well now I can chuck up to being on dialysis. ;D
Don't hate yourself, we have all done things we may not be proud of or maybe wonder why did it in the 1st place but time will fix all things.

You're probably not losing your mind. Is it possible you could be having a reaction to a medicine? If not, I do believe dialysis, or the toxins, can really mess with you.
You should probably mention this to your doc so he can check you out.

I've had dreams that I've gone temporarily crazy because of dialysis, but it's never really happened to me, unless you count getting so frustrated and fed up that I drive a little crazily to get home and lock myself in my bedroom.

I'm sure it can, otherwise I would have to accept responsibility for the awful and stupid things I've done. So yeah it can make you temporarily insane. And yes Restorer sorry but what your do is temporarily insane

Funny you should ask............ 2 weeks ago I vented via a e-mail to 15 people and two days later was so ashamed of my rant. It's like I was possessed :Kit n Stik;

yes, i too have vented some crazinesss ON HERE before, and felt very embarrassed and ashamed by it... no idea how that even happened either. one minute im writing normal stuff, the next im lsing my mind...
doesnt help that im naturally kind of a nut anyway haha

I don't know if it can make you temporarily insane, but I suspect it can. I know it makes people very unhappy. I know it has a negative effect on my memory. :Kit n Stik;

I went to my local swimming pool on Saturday and I was caught peeing in the pool. The lifeguard shouted at me so loud that I nearly fell in!!!!! :sir ken; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

Ken, there's a big difference between peeing in the pool, and peeing into the pool! :2thumbsup; :rofl; :clap;

That's a good joke. You setup'em up to think they peeeed in the pool, and pay it off when you explain you peeed into the pool. It's a great mislead and reveal. I think I'll use it in my screenplay about Palm Springs (which has 10,000 swimming pools, in case you've never been there). :thumbup;

I haven't completely lost my mind, but I almost quit my job two weeks ago. I've been at my job 7 years, and I obviously need the insurance, but I was just over it. Between being overwhelmed, under-appreciated, and sick all the flippin' time, I spiraled. I kept my composure (for the most part), but I did send out resumes, one to an open position. Luckily, the position had already been filled, which kept me from making a rash decision. I could have burned a lot of bridges.
I notice that I am uncharacteristically grumpy a lot more these days in general. It's a combination of being tired all the time, sometimes a little foggy in my mind, and just feeling like nobody (at work) "gets it".
I'm so lucky to have an amazing supportive husband, who pulls me back when I am at my breaking point.

Yes GLm pre- and post transplant...I look through my old posts and I was pretty wrecked most of the time...even up and quit my job! :p hang in there friend!!!

Dialysis definitely affects the mind. Yesterday I drank 16 oz. of water at an Easter family gathering, and immediately I started to freak out. I regretted my drinking the water, fearing what horrors awaited for me at Monday's dialysis. I took some diuretics, hoping to pee it away. I was also too paranoid to go into the swimming pool, even though it was 71 degrees, because I was worried about infection. Why does my fistula itch? :stressed; :banghead; :oops; You have to fight to keep your sanity. :boxing;

GLM- I'm naturally moody (thanks Mom and Dad ;) ) but I've actually noticed that since being on D, I'm better... memory seems a bit foggy at times, but moods are like 65% better (don't ask me why I chose 65% :) ). I know that doesn't help with your feeling of craziness, but I think being crazy at times is totally natural, D, or no D... especially when you feel stressed out, it can cause you to freak out.
When I worked in mental health, my fellow case workers and myself always had this quote in our office...
"Remember that 1 in 4 people in this country is mentally unbalanced.. look at 3 of your closest friends...If they seem okay, then you're the one!" :rofl;
Don't be embarassed about what you did, everyone is entitled to an outburst, a rant, or in Ken's case...a pee in the pool ;D :rofl; :rofl;
