Has anyone found that their allergies got worse after a kidney transplant? I developed allergies after my SECOND transplant. I live in the Chicago area and they are driving me crazy. I won't complain about the weather though. :2thumbsup;

Oh there is definately alot of pollen in the air. I believe theyre saying it one of the worst that they have seen. So many at one time. Ive been having allergies alot this year myself. Usually never bothered by it, but not this year.
God Bless,

With all the hot weather it's no wonder our allergies are bad! I actually had to talk to my doctor about my allergies this year...they were so bad that I had to be on antibiotics because I was so clogged up, I got a sinus infection. My mother and father live in Chicago (Wheaton), and they said both their allergies are just awful this year! I'm just on D, no transplants yet, but llike I said I don't think anyone isn't sneezing or using a box of Zyrtec this spring!

Allergies are bad this year. But I thought my allergies got better after transplant. I used to have awful hay fever or fall allergies. After my transplamt I had practically nothing. I thought it was the immune suppression helping me.

That's just weird. I really do think that you get some things from your donor.

I know one thing I got. I'm now allergic to cashews. My mom was my donor and cashews are her favorite. I could eat them or not, didn't love them. After my transplants I had some cashews and got hives. So now I have to avoid them.
