Well a month on PD for Laurie and the three most common things to go wrong have gone wrong 1. peritonitis 2. fluid overload 3.now it is looking very like a hernia !!!!! It is very discouraging and we are down in the dumps .

Brenda, I am so sorry you have had to go through all these stages so soon. You really must be down in the dumps. I would be. Did the hernia cause the peritonitis? We have a friend who is also in this position and he has been on PD for over 2 years. He had an hernia and peritonitis at the same time. They operated on his hernia and found out it was not healing and it had given him peritonitis so they have had to pull his tube and he is on hemo for a couple of months. The good thing is the peritonitis has gone, his hernia is now healing up and they will be reinserting his tube with in the next month. Please don't let this put you off PD, all will come good. Sending you both hugs.

:cuddle; from me. I ended up with a hernia on PD but thankfully that was only one out of three. Hope all goes well after these hurdles and you are back on track soon.
