Today my eleven year old scored his first goal in lacrosse, and then this afternoon, passed his novice black belt karate test on the first attempt. He works so hard at the latter, and I was so proud of him. When they announced his name, I was bursting with pride and could feel the tears coming into my eyes. Even my husband's eyes seemed to be glistening a bit. I stood there and the thought did go through my mind, that despite renal failure, I am still here, 23 years from my diagnosis, and enjoying this wonderful day with the son that I never thought I would be able to have.

:cheer: So glad you could appreciate these special moments so well. Congrats to your son!
I keep a 'Glad Book' and write my SM down - I hope one day that my grandies will read it and so get to know their Gran a little better.

Amanda, I know you are very proud. Black belt in karote requires a lot of not only discipline but character too! What an awesome son you have. And for him to have you, well, that is something "Special"
God Bless,
