Title: CT SCAN FOR KIDNEY
Post by: Whamo on March 08, 2012, 05:47:38 PM
First, they drew blood, then they fixed up a temporary I.V.  They had me take my pants down, and lie on this big machine that looks like a tube.  Then they draw you into the tube, and the machine tells you to breathe in, hold your breath for 7 seconds, and then breathe again.  Then did this a half dozen times.   Then they injected me with IODINE.  It feels STRANGE.  Then they repeat the tube routine to take pictures, take out the I.V., tell you to get dressed, and you're done.  I felt STRANGE for the rest of the day.   :puke;

I had a CT scan two days ago of my neck. I know what you mean about how it feels when they put in the contrast. I'm still getting a funny taste in my mouth because I don't think all the contrast is cleared yet. But it's amazing what they can learn from scans.

I know when they did scans on J, they set it right before D, so they could dialysis the dye out.  Not sure why, but Neph did not want dye in him.

Whamo, gotta get to dialysis right afterwards, when you have a CT scan with contrast.  That stuff is poison...

I had dialysis the day afterwards, and I still didn't feel normal.
