Title: There is no GOD! that is stupid bullshit
Post by: alchemist on February 25, 2012, 12:18:51 AM
There is no GOD and having that notion is a stupid idea.

How can the world be so cruel?

Other people have better opportunities,

Other people rant about being on dialysis but they are lucky enough to get dialysis, stupid people don't they know I do not even have the money for dialysis, I do not have kidney donor nor do I have the money for kidney transplant. I would probably be dead tomorrow.

All hopeless, all false promises, it is unfair, Only the rich people get to live while the poor just die.

I do not even have money for stem cell treatments and even that is still not a guarantee.

The rapist and the murderers have better life in jail.
I am trap inside the house because I am paralyze.

But someone like me who has not committed a crime and was **** and ********* ******* person in childhood is now the one suffering and being penalize with a death penalty of KIDNEY disease.

I hate the world, I hate everyone. Shit.

I am so sorry that you find yourself in such a position, hating the world and hating everyone.  I suppose I would be the same, but I was fortunate enough to contact Jesus the Christ.  He is the only One who can make sense of this existence.  I wish you would call upon Him.  Just say 'Oh Lord Jesus!'

So wait a minute... if there is no 'God' then who exactly is "penalizing" you?

Alchemist,  That is what this site is for.  Venting.  Right now I'm having back problems and I've never had back problems.  I can hardly move and what the hell and I supposed to do.  I have no one to help and my damn dogs can't even go get my slippers for me.  They just sit there... dah!  Gosh can't they feed me for once!

There is a God and I claim that promise of life with not pain or suffering in eternity.      :bow;

You may feel better tomorrow.  Or we could go rob a bank and have the good life.

I would much rather believe in GOD because (besides His promises) then I have someone I can get angry with! I didn't do this to myself and there are some days I feel just like you and hate everybody and everything.

Hi Alchemist I did some research for you, and sincerely hope that it could give you some help (cos even I believe that God helps people that help themselves. Here are a few things I found online under "Philippines medical assistance" for medical assistance in the Philippines only;

1. Philippine Charity Sweepstakes http://www.pcso.gov.ph/imap.html
Helps patients to pay medical bills.

2. Senator Sergio R. Osmeña III, helping citizens to get medical care http://www.senate.gov.ph/senators/sen_bio/sosmena_bio.asp

3. List of charities in the Philippines http://www.ask.com/wiki/List_of_charities_in_the_Philippines

4. Government medical assistance program: EdEdangara.com website, call him and ask if you cannot find it online, he does have a program for medical assistance.

5. National Kidney and Transplant Institute at: nkti.gov.ph/, call their administration office and ask if they know of anyone who can help your sister.

6. Philippine General Hospital at pgh.gov.ph/. Hospitals can often refer you to help for paying medical bills.

I am sorry, tried to provide the links to all of these, but the "ask" would not allow me more than 3 links so you will have to put www in front of the website addresses w/o links, but you can also look these up online.

I would call medical centers, government offices, hospitals and anyone who you think might be able to help you.

Good luck Cas

alchemist, I'm so sorry that your life is so sh!tty.  Some of us are so very blessed to live in countries which have the means to give us good (or at least adequate) healthcare and (believe me) we DO know this.  I hope that some of cassandra's (what a sweetheart!) links are of help to you.

Right, there is no God.  You are responsible for yourself, dingleflop.  Try walking in my shoes.

 :rofl; AGREED!!

You know at first I was thinking to myself the other day that I'm getting frustrated because of waiting for a transplant, and I'm tired of being on Dialysis...and I got on my computer and wrote a "rant post" about those frustrations, on here, this website. And much to my delight I got some feedback from others in a situation similar to mine, and it made me realize that I had support, and others had been in my shoes, or at lease tried on some very similar ones to my own.

And even though I complain sometimes about having to deal with Dialysis, and medication, and life-changing symptoms, I realize that I am lucky to have more insurance than others, or more care from doctors, and a support system that does care.  But by no means am I rich... I think once you get ESRD you're doomed to pay out any and all money you can get to premium payments and hospital bills that aren't covered...(that will be another rant I'm sure...coming soon ;)  ).

I don't know anything about government programs near you Alchemist, but if you're that determined to hate the world as I think you are, then you should be that determined to go and search out some solutions for yourself.

Wow. This really has me shaking my head. The original poster lives in the Philippines where, according to him, people who cannot afford dialysis are sent home to die. I know nothing of his country, but I do know that this absolutely happens in countries such as South Africa. This is on an entirely different level to what we experience in the West. I suspect he would gladly trade places with almost anyone else here. He has been at times angry and abrasive, and lashed out at other members, but I think in his circumstance it is misdirected anger and more understandable than most.

Any of us who have received support when we are down have little place to judge his reaction. English is obviously not his native language, either, which can make for further misunderstanding. If you cannot offer support it behooves anyone to at least do a touch of research into the person before posting. It's a support group. Remember why you joined.... and why you stayed.

Cariad- You're right, and I apologize to the site, and to Alchemist (Alchemist I am sorry for taking such an unkind word to your plight).  I've read many of the posts and far be it for me to judge, but  even though it wasn't personally directed at me, I took offense because it felt as though the negativity is directed at those of us receiving care.  I know it must be nearly impossible to be positive in your situation Alchemist, and again I apologize.

Cariad, you are very nice, the other posts were making me sad, in many parts of the world dialysis is a luxrury and if you have no money you just die. It isn't always a choice.

Countries like the Philippines, South Africa etc. have a bad reputation in terms of Human Rights
whereas countries like America, England etc. (still) have a good reputation in terms of Human Rights etc.,

...and if one examines these matters, one realizes that as long as the economical situation is going well,
all might be well, but as soon as there is an economical “hiccup” in any of the “civilized” countries,
“civilisation” quickly deteriorates into “elbow-Darwinism” or “survival of the fittest”.

For example, here in London the costs for the Olympics have been totally “miscalculated”
and cost £2 Billion more than originally estimated. Money has become very, very tight.

As a result I have been forced to pay for my own medical care privately for many years.
One of the reasons why I am being discriminated against
is because I suffer from a very rare genetically inherited disease
which is the reason for my ESRF with 10-12% kidney function
and no NHS doctor to go to.

Of course, I am entitled to NHS medical care by law,
but my grim reality has been totally different for many years.
I have gone through all the complaints procedures unsuccessfully
and there is no office, no organization and no charity to help or assist me.

One of my neighbours is being looked after and fed by other neighbours.
She is over 70 years old and really should get help from the state.
By law she is entitled to financial help from the state,
but she cannot “elbow” her way through the many local offices
and there is no organization and no charity to help her either (not even “Help The Aged”).
This neighbour of mine is discriminated against because of her age.

I can’t really see much difference between her situation, my situation or Alchemist's situation.

The only difference is perhaps, that in Alchemist’s case we can blame “the Philippines”,
whereas in the case of my neighbour and myself, we are being considered as failures
because we cannot “elbow” our way through a corrupt system.

Kristina, do you really think this is the place for this? You have been over and over your story on this site and repeatedly shoot down any and all suggestions.

The simple fact is you have access to medical care but choose not to avail yourself of any of your options. At first you stated that it was because of unwanted sexual advances from doctors and unhygienic practices, now you claim it has to do with the Olympics. You are lucky to live in England and not the Philippines. Comparing your situation to a place where citizens are simply sent home to die is offensive. If you needed dialysis you could get it tonight. Choosing to refuse medical services, while entirely within your rights, is not analogous to the circumstances of the poor in the developing world.

Kristina, Obviously, I have no proof one way or another as to what you say is real or not, since we only have your word for it, but when you make allegations about multiple doctors acting in unprofessional ways and/or making unwelcome sexual advances to you, any doctor (good or bad) is likely to 'run' in the opposite direction for fear of being accused of malpractice.  That may be why you find it so hard to get anyone to provide you with medical care.

Your situation no way resembles that of Alchemist, and others like him.  I am shocked that you would think that there is.

I would like to point out that I have had excellent and highly professional care from doctors in the UK.
Title: Re: There is no GOD! that is stupid bullshit
Post by: kristina on March 09, 2012, 02:00:21 PM

Hello Amanda,

No NHS doctor would “run in the opposite direction for fear of being accused of malpractice”.

They have nothing to fear because there is a very powerful union to protect NHS doctors
but there is nothing in place to protect NHS patients from abuse by NHS doctors.

If you had excellent and highly professional care from doctors in the UK,
that only means that you had better luck than I had.

That is why I really can’t see much difference between my neighbour’s situation,
alchemist’s situation or my situation because, as I have said,
it does not seem to matter where you live when you are down on your luck.

Cariad, I felt personally attacked and very hurt when you wrote to me that :

“The simple fact is you have access to medical care but choose not to avail yourself of any of your options.”

Cariad, do you really believe I would pay money every month (which I can hardly afford)

to receive private medical care for my 10 – 12 % kidney function

if I had a chance to have access to medical care on the NHS?
Title: Re: There is no GOD! that is stupid bullshit

Kristina, why have you not been receiving care on the NHS, it is every Britons right. I live in the UK and you have a choice. Go private, that's if you have lots of money or go NHS which is a wonderful health service, which I would not call for a moment.
Title: Re: There is no GOD! that is stupid bullshit
Post by: cariad on March 10, 2012, 12:32:01 PM
Kristina, I was not attacking you. I was expressing my opinion that you do not live in a country that sends dialysis patients home to die. If you post your thoughts on a public forum you need to be prepared for people to disagree with you. I have the same right as you to offer my thoughts without being met with hyperbolic claims that I am attacking you.

Also, I find it just a bit impolite to 'hijack' a serious thread about someone's desperate situation in the Philippines with your own problems. In my opinion, if you want to discuss how the Olympics has prevented you from receiving adequate healthcare, courtesy would suggest that you start your own discussion on the topic.
Title: Re: There is no GOD! that is stupid bullshit
Post by: kristina on March 11, 2012, 03:18:53 AM

Hello, alchemist, I do hope you don’t think I “hijacked” your thread.

I only mentioned that I don’t see much difference between your situation and my situation
because when we are down on our luck it does not really matter where we live.

If I need more health care in my ESRF, I won’t be able to pay for it either
and facing this situation is devastating and totally traumatizing.

Hello, billybags, I have explained on several threads
(i.e. “A theory of recovery from Dialysis” and many others etc.),
that -  like many other NHS patients in the UK -
I do not receive NHS medical care in my ESRF.

The reason why I am fighting, shouting and screaming about it
is because I don’t have the money to pay for private health care.

Oh for heaven's sake.

I would put on my moderator hat and make a comment, but quite honestly I wouldn't know how to appropriately phrase one if I did.

I am simply going to say this (I have put the hat on my cat - she's currently sleeping under it) - thisis an off-topic thread with a subject line that invites some opinions, probably some that many won't agree with. Please be considerate of others as usual but by the same token expect opinionated responses if you post in a thread like this. You have to be prepared for this.  If you can't take the heat, get out of the oven.

personal opinion: Kristina, I'm sorry but I actually agree witrh Cariad and Amada. Your situation is very different in my view. You have made a CHOICE to not seek NHS care for a number of reasons that you have gone through many times. The UK's NHS offers a taxpayer funded medical service which supports dialysis, transplant, etc etc... Australia, NZ and Canada amongst other countries operate under the same general principles. Trying to compare socialised health systems like the UK with 3rd world countries like the Phillipines is comparing apples and oranges (let alone the US which is a whole other thing in my view). Yes, in the UK you can get a better/faster service with private insurance. In Australia though, having private insurance actually would mean little in terms of kidney disease, dialysis and tx as all of that is handled by the federal medicare system (equivalent of NHS) anyway - though we do have private dialysis clinics of course where having private insurance would pay for access, possibly, to a unit closer to home.

Anyway in some counries - heck MANY countries there is NO state sponsored/fundled medical assistance or provided dialysis. In that case you DO need money to pay or else, basically, yes you are sent home to die. As far as I know, in the UK if you wound up in hospital with acute kidney failure and needed dialysis you would be looked after. Maybe not efficiently and maybe not in the way you'd prefer, but you WILL be assisted by the state.

In my view you simply can't equate the two situations. Throwing in an example of a neighbour's struggles to access what - meals on wheels or similar council funded services I think doesn't really relate to the general situation.

Honestly, in the UK or Australia, Canada etc being "Down on your luck" does NOT preclude access to medical care of a sufficent level to keep you going. It's more likely that if you're "down on your luck" you shouldn't bet on the CHeltenham festival this week.....

in the Phillipines, India and other places being "down on your luck" can literally mean death.

Honestly I feel some perspective is needed. I also do feel that this thrread has gone off topic... since God - if He exists or not - is hardly related to the NHS.

Richard, I am sorry to say this, but the NHS does not provide NHS health care for everyone in the UK :

I received a medical letter by post (dated 11th April 2005) from the medical adviser to my local NHS health authority (PCT)
stating no doctor can be found in the UK to treat me.

As a result I have gone unsuccessfully through all NHS complaints procedures including the medical NHS Ombudsman in the UK
and no lawyer takes my case despite documented evidence. Checkmate.

I do not think this is the right forum for this discussion, since it is off-topic, however I still find it difficult to believe. I understand you have an unusual condition however you WILL still have access to dialysis care when the time comes. Of that I am certain.

I will also say that down here we seem to do things a little differently in special/unusual cases. I can personally bear witness to a situation where my own mother had a pulminary ambolism caused by a DVT (iroincally we believe which occcured on a flight to London). ANyway the situation she wound up woth was so unique that no doctor/surgeon in Australia was able to treat it. However surgeons at UCSD in California were doing work in this area and considered the experts. Our government paid via medicare, for my mother to travel to San DIego, along with my sister as caregiver, to receive treatment there for her condition. They were also willing to foot the potential bill for her treatment (be it upwards of $500,000 for surgery). Unfortunately when in the US and they got to look at my mum for themselves they declared her situation was too severe and complicated for their teniques so alas we left empty handed. However the mere fact that MY govt went to those lengths, not to mention supporting ME through dialysis (I did not pay a cent out of pocket for) and of course my wonderful transplant (again, no payment for hospital, tx surgery etc).... I am always very happy to pay my taxes. We have a lot of waste in this c country, inefficient systems and abuse etc but we also do very very good things... and I think our system is based on the UK's - you'd like to think they would do something similar if they could for you. However different countries I guess.....

Anyway this is OT.
