Title: Dipyridamole
Post by: sullidog on February 15, 2012, 02:12:10 PM
My neph switched me to Dipyridamole which is according to a study apparently a better blood thinner for the dialysis access then the plavix, anyone ever heard of it?

Sorry it's taken so long to post: I have a lot of experience with dipyridamole.  It's been around much longer than Plavix and so its safety and effectiveness have been studied much longer too.  I was first given dipyridamole in 1986, after my strokes, and in 2005, when I had much trouble with clotting in my graft, I started on it again.  For me, it works well, with no side effects.   The only drawback is that you have to take it every eight hours, less convenient than some other drugs for the purpose.
