I went to Cancun for 4 days 3 nights last year 2011 around Feb with my wife and my son.
It was lots of fun and really great to get out of the house and did something different.
We took a red eye flight to South Carolina, waited for like 3 hours and then flew to Cancun.
We took Delta and they checked in my manual solution (don't want to carry cycler, cassette and solutions) with no problem after I showed them the letter from my doctor.
After arriving Cancun airport, we picked up the baggage with solution and went thru customs. Custom did ask what are the solutions for and I showed them the letter and they said 'oh Dialysis. go ahead'.
So, they are aware of solution used for dialysis.
We reserved a cab to take us to the hotel. The trip was around 20 minutes from airport. After we arrived at the airport, checked in and went to dinning hall and started eating. After lunch, I went to my room and did my dialysis to kind of catch up for the flight. I usually let the solution sit inside of me for about 2 to 2.5 hours, drain and then start another bag. While the solution sit inside of me, my wife and I walked around inside the hotel, enjoy the sun (no swimming) at outdoor.
Next day, we went to Chichen Itza with a tour. It was a full day tour and we also went to the sink hole so my son could swim. He really loved it. The bus picked us up around 9am and didn't get back to the hotel until 8 pm. Luckily, the hotel I stayed served dinner until 9 pm. BTW, always get the inclusive package when you are vacation in Cancun. The 'extra' $ is well worth it.
We also went to Xelha which is primarily for my son since he wanted to do the underwater exploring.
Well, he thought the reality doesn't match what's being advertised :)
Anyway, I did my dialysis 2 times per day (With the cycler, I am supposed to do 4...) with the 1.5 yellow.
Yes, I am taking a chance but I figured it was only for 4 days, I should be fine. Your mileage may varies.
Feel free to ask questions if you have any.

First of all :welcomesign; to the site theone. Your holiday sounds wonderful, I could do with a little sun my self. One thing is you have found out that dialysis does not keep down and you can still enjoy your self.. Look forward to your posts.
