Title: Panic Alarm

‎*sigh* It's been a day so far. Had a panic alarm with my dialysis machine this morning. During the 3rd dwell phase, it detected air in the tubing. So I had to look up the error number, the book said to disconnect everything and call the dialysis center. So I called my nurse and ended up having to go into the clinic this morning to do a manual exchange with an antibiotic, just in case the air wasn't sterile.

I mean, I feel fine and whatnot, so I'm not that worried. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

I'm glad you are calm.  Just look for signs of infection like fever and what not.  Sounds like they played it safe.

Indeed. Just was kind of scary. I think that's the quickest I've jumped up from a dead sleep.

Kayholio, First of all   :welcomesign; to the site. My husband is on the Baxter cycler, has been for over 2 years and we have had  this alarm twice. There is basically nothing you can do only and do a manual. You did good informing your unit because you never know. We found it was the cassette that had the air bubbles and yet you would think the priming would have thrown it up. Stupid machines.
