Hubby and I are avid cruisers, and as we are getting ready to move from PD to NxStage, I'm curious if any of you have cruised with your NxStage. The wording on the FAQ's is ambiguous.
Anyone been cruising with their machine?

Jen, NxStagers often go on cruises and even plan cruises together.

Thank you thank you. :)
Now I know when we switch to NxStage we don't have to stop cruising!

I took a 12 day cruise out of Barcelona with my Nxstage machine. You need to be aware that your supplies need to be shipped by you to the port of embarkation if it is out of country. Cost me $1200! Much better to embark from a U.S. port as you avoid this cost. However even with the extra cost it was cheaper than going on a dialysis cruise. Had a lot of fun!

Thanks, Jim.
Currently, we go to ports we can drive to, because I'm far more comfortable having all his supplies in my possession. Too many horror stories of ships losing deliveries. :(
We are like you, we never wanted to do Dialysis at Sea. Having been cruising so many times, we don't like the limited itineraries and such, nor the inflated prices!

My husband has been using NxStage for almost two years. We have taken 4 cruise and are leaving on our 5th one March 16 and have our 6th one planned for Oct 21.

@vcarmody - Oh awesome! If you don't mind my asking, which line do you usually use?
We've been on 9 cruises with Carnival, and actually went on NCL as well, once. We have a cruise here in Feb (while still on PD) and it will be our platinum cruise with Carnival. Yay for Platinum perks.

We used to only travel Royal Caribbean but they gave us a hard time and decided they did not want to let us sail anymore, so we started going on Carnival. Carnival is the best, they are so accommodating. FYI book a handicap room they are so much bigger on Carnival better for all the boxes. Our March Cruise is on RC and Oct is on Carnival out of Baltimore.
