So I finally decided to sign up as a member of this site even though I have been coming to the forum daily for the last year. In October of 2008 I was diagnosed with rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis. Eight months of chemo and a ton of other drugs my kidneys finally gave up. So this past July I hit my two year mark with Fresenius in center hemo dialysis. I hate being sick but I have the best doctors, nurses and techs anyone could ask for. Yesterday I had my second year eval for a transplant so I have accrued about that much time on the list with an estimated five year wait. Mainly I just want to say what a wonderful site this is. I have always researched every treatment and every drug since the beginning and this site is number one on my list. Thanks guys for being there!

Thanks for the warm greetings guys. This site has been so great. It's like that saying that you can only tell what a person is going thru by walking a mile in their shoes. Well I figure with all the advice and information here there has to be thousands of miles. It is so good to see that we are all in it together.

Hi Amy and welcome! :welcomesign;

Hello, amycdaa and welcome to IHD.
It was interesting for me to read that you were treated with chemo and “a ton of other drugs”.
Was it to treat the progressive glomerulonephritis?
I am interested because I am ESRF pre-Dialysis with chron. proliferative glomerulonephritis
and Lupus/SLE/MCTD and I have not heard of chemo-treatment for glomerulonephritis.
Best wishes from Kristina.
