So it's that time of year, where Winter has us down. Usually winter is the hardest time for being since I'm not as busy I have more time to think about how much I hate having CKD. Well not this year. Instead of just dialysis and work I've just scheduled a much of activities for the next month.
In January - Our winter carnival kicks off so I'm going to be doing a lot of skating , some foodie tours (we will see how much I can eat), and our city is hosting the NHL All Stars game and that week there is a ton of stuff going on. So far we plan on going to the Fan Fair.
In February- More skating, a stand up comedy night, and maybe if I could convince my BF to go dog sledding.
So my message is embrace winter.. it's fun.. but what are you doing to beat the winter blahs?

WORK, WORK, and did I mention WORK! But I also enjoy working!

The winter blahs don't usually hit until February for me...
It is the longest short month of the year! :rofl; :rofl;
Last year, I completely avoided them because we got THE GIFT on February 3 and that kind of, sort of consumed the whole month. :2thumbsup;
This year, though, I'm planning some major home re-organization. Closets, bookcases, that sort of thing. I plan on lightening the load of "stuff" that is weighing me down.

Odd .... with the holidays being pretty 'green' (a/k/a NO SNOW ... Whoo Hoo), the winter blahs are just starting to hit because it's getting C.O.L.D.
Right now my only winter blahs beater will be an 8 night trip to Florida (Fort Lauderdale and Key West) in mid February ..... Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa ..........

It doesn't seem to have hit me since I have had a lot of doctor appointments and physical therapy. We shall see in February since I only have one doctors appointment that month and maybe done with physical therapy, but then again pain could be masking it since my sleep is not a normal pattern and less of it. I do not go out much if it is cold and I just let the pup run around out in the backyard instead of going for a walk.
I'm still waiting for the snow to happen!

To brighten you up, it's blue skies and 28(c) 84(f) here to-day.

GAH! It snowed for the first time in Boston tonight!!
I don't like cold weather. (Yes, I know, for someone who dislikes cold weather I definitely live in the best place! ::))
But winter is exciting because:
My boyfriend lives in Boston/Somerville And it's always hard to find parking in the Winter, especially during heavy snows. So we end up hanging out at my place fighting winter blues by cuddles, drinking hot drinks (I prefer tea) and lots of netflix!
But in any case it also means nice plushy fleecy blankets (Something I'm very fond of, and cant' get enough of) (I totally have a snuggle. :bandance;)
I read, cuddle with Aphy, my kitty and catch up on reading. :) Also, netflix.
I try to not go out as much. As I have mobility issues, and it's pretty slippery out. also, it's freaking freezing. And, I am immune suppressed, so I have to try not to get sick.

yeah I'm sweating because it's STILL 28C at 0130 and it's bloody hot!!!! LOL
so I'm drinking lots. Thankl God for my gift so I can, nay MUST drink mucho fluids specially water at a time like this.
Just wish I could help my kitty who is a little over it.... :(

I'd be happy with just 32 out and snow. This minus degree stuff I hate and wind chills. I hate freezing my :sir ken;

I don't ever get the "winter blahs". During the other times of the year, I'm usually really busy with the garden, etc, and I feel guilty if I just want to sit down and relax. But in winter, gardening chores don't have to be done, and when it is all grey and dreary outside, I get one of the bazillion books I have yet to read, and I sit in my chair with a cup of tea, a blankie and a good book. I cherish these wintery days. Fortunately, I don't have to go outside on days like this and can just be self-indulgent.
