They wanted to do it on my birthday, but since it isnt really effecting my treatments, other than discomfort, i decided to ask to wait until the next available after!
Seems to me im always in the hospital on my bday, so i am trying hard to avoid it this year!!! I have been in the hospital almost every year since starting D, and even a few times here and there throughout my life! (terrible time of year for me!)
My arm is swollen, so the dr (after multiple attempts to get him to do anything) ordered an ultrasound, and after days of waiting for results, apparently a narrowing in my subclavian? may be causing the swelling and discomfort. He isnt sure, so he wants to get the fistulagram and go from there. Had it not taken nearly 2 weeks to get something done/results in, i could have had this done and ove with!
When I told him its my bithday this week, he said well you shouldnt have to do dialysis on your birthday! (um, well, ya,that would be ideal...?!? really??)

Geez...everyone seems to be having fistulagrams this week! ::)
Your doctor seems rather lazy...

I would go in as soon as possible if there is a narrowing.
I had a narrowing when I first started that i was lucky they sent me in for a fistula-gram that the doctor decided to fix it then and there, since the risk of it clotting was high.
