:thumbup; Wanted to let you all know, I was renting a Dell, at outrageous prices. I liked Dell, but thought there was no way I could afford to buy one outright. I searched ebay, found what I thought was a good deal. Before I bought it, I sent Epoman the deal from Ebay, and asked his opinion.
He pm-ed me back, asking if he could give me a call.
He called, and told me he pm-ed me a site, when I got to the site, he walked me through it. Epo pointed out what he thought I was looking for, which he knew because I asked what he thought about the "deal" I thought I had found on ebay.
This is what I got...the deal from ebay was "barebones"....nothing to write home about.

Epoman and I are waiting for the right deal to come along also. That's a good deal for ya JP.
-
;D Forgot to mention, I didn't get speakers because I have this computer running through a 500 watt per channel, Pioneer Home system, I had from my youth. The 7.1 surround is just on time. Oh yeah, them 15 inch subs are geetin it ;D
-
My pleasure Joe Paul, you got a much better deal than if you had bought that No-name computer which didn't even include a monitor and was very close in price to the DELL deal. For a few bucks more (literally) you got a name-brand computer with better specs and a 19" LCD.
:thumbup;
Hey maybe I should make that another benefit for "Premium Members" 24/7 computer "buying advice" via Phone. What do you think, would people be interested? I said "buying advice" NOT tech support. ;) I would go insane.

:thumbup; You did me a favor, as I know you have lots to do in a days time. Another advantage of investing and becoming a "Premium member " no more said about investing in a worthy cause.
-
That was definitely a good deal. I should know, I just bought a new Dell system myself recently and paid through the teeth for it even with the small discount Fresenius employees get. Since all Fresenius clinics use only Dell computers we get discounts on certain items only.
-
I'm glad you god a good deal JP.
Sure helps to have someone like Epoman who is "in the know" .
You know they had a clip on the news here saying that E-bay
is becoming a haven for stolen merchandise.
-
I just bought my first item on E-bay last week. A pair of jeans. Not too big of a deal if I get smucked.

AwwwwC'mom Epoman. Be our support geek! I want to see you be slowly driven insane by your membership. :rofl; :rofl; :yahoo;

I don't have to be the support geek to be driven insane by the IHD membership. I already am being slowly driven insane by you guys. My wife says I talk in my SLEEP about IHD. :o I need to start a fund, the "Lets send Epoman and a vacation" fund. The problem with that is that some of the members would want to send me on a PERMANENT vacation. >:(

No, no, don't do it, epoman! That is a very dangerous road you're on! ;D
My husband is in the computer repair business . . . he's got blood pressure problems at 27. . .don't risk it! :D
-
I will put the first dime up for a "Let's drive Epoman Crazy" Fund. Just tell me where to send it. I will tape it to a postcard and off it will go. But then it sounds like you do not need a fund for that!
-
But seriously, I am looking for a computer for the hubby. It has to be easy to use and wireless compatible. Nothjing but Microsoft Word, Internet capability and solitaire put on it. Nothing else. He does not need or want anything else on it. Is this possible?

You know you can count me in on this.......(as long as i get to watch him go crazy) lol :P
But in all seriousness, i think that would be an excellent added bonus for the premium members, i say GO FOR IT... (and run) :popcorn;

Quite possible and very cheap if you don't want any extras.

I am close to buying my own laptop maybe this month and certainly by next month.
I want to use it to play games. I quite like the look of the Acer Aspire WKLMI 9813.
I know about the DELL XPS machines but feel they are very expensive.
Should i forget the Acer and go for Dell??
Your thoughts please.

I've been buying & selling on eBay for about eight years & am 99% happy with everything I bought.
One area I stay far away from is electronics & I would never buy a computer on eBay.
Epoman was right on with his advice.
Rerun, what does "get smucked" mean? New on on me.
