Title: Whats Up
Post by: JamesE on November 03, 2011, 06:08:43 AM
:2thumbsup; Whats up, my name is James im 19 and this is my second time on dialysis. Iv been sick with kidney problems for pretty much my entire life. It really started to get bad about 6 years ago when my kidneys finally gave out on me and I went on hemo dialysis for a few months then peritonial for a year and a half. Then I got a transplant in 07 from my father. It was going well until last november when i got pnumonia and the drugs they used to treat me wrecked my kidney. And iv been on hemodialysis ever since.

OMG, I can't imagine how furious I'd be if the docs ruined my transplant.  I'm really sorry to hear this.

You are so young to be dealing with this.  I get really angry when I see young people who have been having medical problems their whole lives.  I'm mad that I have kidney problems, but I'm old so no one really cares. ::)  But I have a son your age (well, a bit older), and I can't imagine what it must be like to have to faff about with this stuff growing up.

How did you cope with dialysis and school?

Anyway, I'm glad you have joined us and hope we can help in some way.  We have some members who have been through the wars at a young age like you have, and I hope maybe they can chime in.

Hi James ... Wow.  What crazy experiences you've had already.  I respect you for your ability to persevere through all of these trials.  You are so young and I hope everything continues to go well for you and that you progress quickly back to another transplant.  Best of luck and welcome to IHD.   It is an incredible resource for both knowledge and support.
